The Archdiocese of Chicago was
anxious to provide for their priests' retirement community a
collegial and homelike atmosphere in a wooded suburban
setting. Seeking an interior consultant conversant in both
senior housing requirements and suites hotel experience, The
Archdiocese selected JHA to plan, design and implement their
anticipated desires.

The architecture reflects a modified Arts & Crafts style
which was conveyed throughout the interiors in both color
and materials. An elevated comfort level of residential
quality was the goal sought in both the public and private
suites for each resident.
In addition to the community lounge and dining room on
the first level, in keeping with a suites hotel model, the
facility provides a more casual "men's club" lounge and
library on the upper level, adjacent to the private suites.
Here they may entertain family and friends as well as their
fellow priests, who occasionally join them for golf at clubs
in the surrounding area. An exercise room, health services
unit and The Bishop Lyon Chapel complement their daily
routine. |
